Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has begun a two-day working visit to Armenia. Georgian Assistant Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze noted that it’s remarkable that Saakashvili pays his first foreign visit of 2011 to Armenia, thus emphasizing the friendly ties between the two countries, the Panorama agency reports.
The Georgian delegation that has arrived in Armenia also includes Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze. The Armenian and Georgian FMs are expected to hold a meeting in the framework of the visit.
The council for the rights of Djavakhq Armenians previously called on the officials to discuss a wide range of issues related to local Armenians’ problems, the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia and other similar questions.
