Over 20% of the police force in Adygeya are to be made redundant
within the framework of reforming the system of the Russian police by
optimizing the work of structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs,
Yuga.ru reports.
The ministry’s structure will be determined in March, but redundancies
have already started. 12% of staff have already lost their jobs and
10% will be redundant this year, the Minister of Internal Affairs of
Adygeya, Alexander Sysoyev, said.
He clarified that the number of police officers in every municipality
depends on the norms and population.
All police officers in Adygeya will undergo merit rating from March to
May. The results will determine the formation of the new police
structures.
Sysoyev said that special attention will be paid to the income
registration of police staff, including high officials, within the
transformation from militia to police, ordered by the General
Prosecutor’s Office.
Some 50 police officers gave invalid data on income and underwent
punishment, Sysoyev said.
