A visa free regime between Georgia and Iran comes into force on the
26th of January, Georgia Online reports. The agreement between Georgia and Iran to abolish
the visa regime was signed on November 3, 2010 in Tbilisi.
According to the new regulations, the Iranian citizens are allowed to
stay in Georgia for 45 days. The same regulations are introduced for
Georgian citizens willing to visit Iran. Citizens of both countries
will also benefit from the transit checkpoints.
At the end of last year, after a 10-year hiatus, direct flights
between Tbilisi and Tehran were relaunched.
