Emergencies Ministry opens regional center in Pyatigorsk

The North Caucasus regional center of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia will be established in 2011 in Pyatigorsk, RIA Novosti reports.

The necessity of establishing a new regional center occurred after the establishing of the North Caucasus Federal District, which includes Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachai-Cherkessia, North Ossetia, the Stavropol region and Chechnya.

There are currently seven ministry regional centers: Central, North-Western, Southern, Privolzhsky, Urals, Siberian and Far Eastern.
