The Governor of Kuban, Alexander Tkachyov, described the work of the
security organization at the airport of Krasnodar as unsatisfactory,
Yuga.ru reports.
The governor came to the conclusion after visiting the airport
together with the Vice-Governor, Jambulat Hatuov, the regional
prosecutor, Leonid Korzhinek, the head of the transport department of
the Russian Ministry of the Interior in the Southern Federal District,
Vladimir Strukov, and the Mayor of Krasnodar, Vladimir Yevlanov. Their
visit was made to inspect the security measures.
The inspection was organized without warning, Tkachyov said. The
region has four international airports and major trading and
recreation centers, he noted.
The governor gave a harsh response on seeing the lack of metal
detectors at the arrival lounge.
Tkachyov also condemned the work of local taxis. The press-service
said that a demand to put everything in order had not been fulfilled
by the airport authorities.
