The miners of the Mindeli mine shaft named in Georgia Tkibuli are on
strike. One of the miners said that the reason for the strike is the
detention of the chief of the Edem Strua section and the deputy head
of the ventilation service Georgy Devdariani after the explosion on
January 22, Georgia Online cites IPN.
The miners believe that it is the victims of the explosion, who are
undergoing treatment at the Tbilisi burns center, who are responsible.
The strikers refuse to work until the detained are released.
Technical director of Gruzugol (Georgian coal company) Zaza Gordeziani
confirmed the work stopped in the mines.
Nurgzar Javakhadze, Mamuli Kublashvili, Merab Oboladze and Vitaly
Turzuladze are being treated at the Tbilisi burns center.
