Total control over passengers and luggage might be introduced in Russia

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev instructed the government to prepare
proposals on changes to the control system at transportation hubs,
which will provide a continuous screening of people and baggage in the
areas most vulnerable to passenger security, RIA Novosti cites  the
Kremlin press service.

The proposals must be completed by February 10.

A terrorist attack at Domodedovo airport on January 24th revealed the
shortcomings of security measures in Russian transport. The day after
the explosion, the president strongly criticized Domodedovo security
services.

He noted that, according to the crime scene investigation, the
criminals were able to enter the airport from any direction, while
control, was at best, partial and almost did not apply to those
meeting passengers.
