Stavropol Territory reaches pre-recession level of socio-economic development

Stavropol Territory achieved pre-recession levels of socio-economic
development in 2010, Yuga.ru reports.


The Ministry of Economy of the region says that industrial production
in Stavropol Territory had an index of 10% in 2010, compared with
2009. Processing production increased by 12.6%. The region dispatched
goods of its own production, fulfilled works and services worth 196
billion rubles, exceeding the indicator in 2009 by 19.9%.


Agricultural products worth 82.8 billion rubles were produced in 2010,
rising by 3.3% compared with 2009. Despite reduction of the harvesting
area by 5.6%, over 7 million tons of wheat were produced. The average
grain yield was 32.9dt/ha, rising by 5.1%, compared with 2009.


Retail business increased by 12.6% and reached 274.4 billion rubles.
Trade turnover grew due to food and non-food goods, worth 129.8
billion and 144.6 billion rubles relatively. Food service industry
rose by 6%, reaching 16.4 billion rubles.


Construction rose by 7.4% and reached 29.5 billion rubles. 1.101
million square meters were constructed in 2010, rising by 2.1%
compared with 2009. The density of individual housing dropped from 58%
in 2009 to 43.4% in 2010.


The financial balance of the activity of large and medium business and
organization is positive in 2010, reaching 29.26 billion rubles. This
indicator is expected to rise by 60% and reach 31.735 billion rubles
in 2011. The ratio of profitable large and medium business enterprises
is 72.8%.
