An Azerbaijani working on the staff of the Azerbaijani embassy in Egypt was killed in Cairo on Saturday as a result of mass public disorders in the country, Azerbaijani news agency Trend reports.
"As a result of the tense situation in Cairo last Saturday, Nijat Gojayev, who worked as an accountant for the embassy, was killed," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry announced, citing Azerbaijani Ambassador to Egypt Shahin Abdullayev.
Egypt's law-enforcement bodies are investigating the case.
