The Minister for the Armenian Diaspora, Mrs. Akopyan, during a meeting
with compatriots in California announced the intentions of Armenian
President Serzh Sargsyan to introduce a second chamber into the
parliament, providing an opportunity for compatriots in the Diaspora
to take part in the work of the Upper House, News Armenia reports.
Mrs Akopyan is in California at the moment for a meeting with the
heads of all the structures of the largest Armenian community.
She added that the decision of the President was not a surprise, after
he established the Ministry for the Diaspora and introduced the
institution of dual citizenship.
