The ombudsman of Armenia, Armen Arutjunyan, filed his resignation to the National Council on February 2, NEWS.am reports.
Arutjunyan was appointed to the position of representative of the UN Commissioner for Human Rights in the Central Asia. He said that he couldn't refuse this post as such a possibility appears once in a blue moon.
He stated that he will continue building a career in the sphere of human rights.
