In Cairo in Tahrir square clashes between supporters and opponents of Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak have clashed, RIA Novosti reports.
Last night Mubarak spoke on national TV, promising that he will stay in office to the end of his authorised term in September and will not stand in the next presidential elections. He promised to work hard until the elections in September and provide a peaceful succession of power.
Meanwhile, the opposition is continuing its protests. Supporters of Mubarak are gathering in Mustafa Mahmud Square.
