Kuban will receive 4.5 billion rubles as state investment in
agro-industry in 2011. The Governor of Kuban Alexander Tkachyov signed
the document in Moscow today, Yuga.ru reports.
Most of the funds will be provided by the federal budget. The region
will invest 1 billion rubles in agro-industry. It is one of the main
principles of state support to regions.
Regions will have more responsibilities when providing information on
state funding to the Ministry of Agriculture. The regions will provide
information daily.
The governor thanked the Agriculture Minister Yelena Skrynnik when
signing the document on state support for the Krasnodar Territory.
Tkachyov reminded that Kuban collected record harvest despite bad
weather conditions. It is still the largest wheat-maker
The governor underlined that Krasnodar Territory is the country's
largest grape, wine and berry grower. It is the only Russian
tea-making region.
Tkachyov noted that the region needs to make agreements with the
Ministry of Agriculture in financing improvements of fertility of
lands and construction of the pellety seeds of sugar beet with the
Shelkovo Agrokhim company.
