New industrial zone founded in Turkmenistan

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is on a visit to the
Lebapsky Velayat where he took part in founding the Garlyk village at
Koytendag Etrap, where a major industrial center is being formed,
Trend cites the Turkmen embassy in Azerbaijan.


A statement says that it is an event related to the 20th anniversary
of independence.


Elected in 2007, the Turkmen president started reforms in all spheres.
Turkmenistan is building tens of industrial and other facilities.
Major changes can be seen in Ashkhabad and 'Avaza' National Tourist
Zone.


The Garlyk village is a step of the president's national program for
social conditions of villages, etraps until 2020.


The first stage of the village construction involves building houses,
administrative buildings of the Gegenshlik and a bank, a polyclinic, a
nursery for 160 children, a school for 320 pupils and a sports-school
for 365 people, a culture center, a post office with a 500-number
communication link, a car-transport terminal, a park with an
amphitheater - a total of 17 facilities. There will be a high-pressure
gas pipeline Bagtyyarlyk-Garlyk, over 250 km long.


Water treatment facilities, a stadium, factories producing meat, dairy
products, confectionary, carpets, sewing, wool and leather production
facilities will be built.
