President Dmitry Medvedev spoke by telephone with President Hosni
Mubarak on Thursday, the Kremlin press service reports. Medvedev
expressed the wish and hope that the current difficult period in the
life of a friendly Egypt will soon be overcome by means of a peaceful
and legal settlement of existing problems, the press service reports.

undertaken by the Egyptian authorities in regard to the Russian
embassy in Cairo and Russian citizens residing on the territory of
Egypt.

Turkish politician Togrul Ismail believes that resolution of the
situation in Egypt in a legal framework will block the road to power
for radical forces of various kinds. He added that if Mubarak chooses
the sensible approach and resigns from his post, a way for a
democratic solution will open up, ensuring that power will not be
transferred to radical groups.
