Commission for social-economic development of NCFD to move to Caucasus

The government will hold meetings of the commission for
social-economic development of the North Caucasian Federal District
(NCFD) in the Caucasus, RIA Novosti cites Alexander Khloponin, Russian
Vice-Premier and authorized presidential envoy to the region, as
saying.


The first session of the commission was held in late January, and the
next one will be in April.


Khloponin clarified that there will be 5 sessions this year. A
consideration of realizing the strategy, with ministers and heads of
subjects making reports, will be the first issue. The second will see
talks on the problems of individual republics. This will be followed
by discussions of the work of state corporations, projects, and
privatization.


The NCFD was established on January 19, 2010. The commission for
social-economic development was established by Prime Minister Vladimir
Putin in December last year to coordinate the work of federal and
regional authorities of the NCFD.
