Department.
The birthrate indicator in 2006 was equal to 20.2 per 1000, 22.4 in
2009 and 26.0 in 2010, department head Jabrail Addayev said.
The birthrate in Russia is 12.6 per 1000.
Grozny saw 45 deaths of newborns in 2010, 91 in 2009, 99 in 2008. The
child death rate is 5.0 in Grozny in 2010.
The reduction of newborn deaths is a result of improved special
medical support of the population using clinics. City healthcare is
still priority in reducing child death. Grozny is reorganizing the
system of municipal healthcare. The quality and accessibility of
medical aid is improving, medical-social repercussions of diseases are
being reduced. Solving staff problems also contributed to healthcare
improvement.
