Russian Government defines airport protection regulations

The government of Russia has approved the rules for the protection of
airports and related infrastructures. According to the new
regulations, air transport hubs will be protected by private security
units or security services of the Transport Ministry, while the
security of airport perimeters will be provided under agreement with
airpot administrations.

The perimeter of an airport should be fenced and equipped with
checkpoints. Passengers will be allowed to enter the building only
after presenting identification cards, vehicles checks and proving
their reason for entering the territory.

The airports will be equipped with centralized command security
systems, which will electronically receive all the information and
automatically transmit it in real time to the FSB, police and Russian
Transport Protection services.
