Iran appoints new ambassador to Turkmenistan

President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov has received the new Iranian ambassador to Turkmenistan, reports Trend.

Mohammad-Mousa Hashemi Golpayegani conveyed greetings from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Turkmen governmental press service reported.

"Iran attaches great importance to developing relations with brotherly Turkmenistan," he said.

Berdymukhammedov emphasized that Turkmenistan sees Iran as a good friend and a reliable partner, with which it will continue to enhance traditionally friendly dialogue.

The realization of large joint projects in various sectors, including in energy, transport and communication sectors is in a major part of bilateral cooperation between the two states.
