Two people suspected of militant activities were detained in the
Dagestani capital of Makhachkala. They are believed to be Kazakh
citizens, a police source told RIA Novosti.
RIA Novosti was informed earlier that a militant group was surrounded
in an apartment of a multi-storey house in Makhachkala on Wednesday
night. They gave up after negotiations at 2.00 am.
The police are searching through the apartment and questioning the
detained. The suspected militants threw out an unidentified package
from the house. The package was destroyed by engineers.
