Dagestani leader Magomedsalam Magomedov has made a set of decisions on social protection and improvement of living standards of veterans of Afghan war, the deceased veterans of the war. He also took into account the proposals of the coordination council of veteran organizations and disabled soldiers of the Afghan war, RIA Dagestan cites the president’s press-service as saying.
The republic’s budget in 2011 will provide:
- payments for families of the deceased veterans of the Afghan war worth 2000 rubles monthly;
- additional payments for veterans and the deceased veterans of the Afghan war worth 18 sq m of the total living space, provided as subsidies.
The Dagestani government was ordered to pass the necessary laws for the issue.
The Dagestani Ministry for National Policy, Religious Affairs and Foreign Links, the Committee for Youth Policy of Dagestan were ordered to involve more veterans of the Afghan war , their veteran organizations and public-political life of the republic for patriotic upbringing of the young generation.
Administrations of municipal districts and city districts were recommended to check the list of the veterans, make sure no one is missing in the list, improve standards of living, provide land for the veterans.
