Russian President Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting in the Kremlin on the issues of transport security. The meeting, which came after a surprise inspection of security at the Kievsky railway station, was attended by Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev, FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov, and Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika.
Medvedev was not satisfied by the security measures at the Kievsky station. For instance, he mentioned, that there was no police with metal detectors at the entrance.Medvedev said that the level of security on railway transport is extremely poor. Giving orders to Interior Ministry and Prosecutor General, Dmitry Medvedev made the FSB responsible for the security control over the transport. In addition, he stressed that if the leaders did not draw any conclusions from the terrorist attack in Domodedovo on January 24, they would be dismissed.
