Construction of the helicopter carriers Mistral for the Russian Armed Forces will take ten years, said the Chief of General Staff of Russian Armed Forces, Army General Nikolai Makarov, RIA Novosti reports.
He also clarified that the state program of armaments until 2020 has a budget of 23 trillion rubles. Earlier the official number was said to be 21 trillion rubles.
In late December 2010 Russia and France have officially announced that the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) and DCNS (France) have signed an agreement to build two Mistral ships in Saint-Nazaire (France) and two in Russia.
