The Russian presidential plenipotentiary envoy to the North Caucasus
Federal District, Vice-Premier Alexander Khloponin, is expecting
positive changes in the sphere of fighting terrorism already this
year. However, for positive results an active fight against corruption
is needed, RIA-Novosti reports.
Khloponin said that, according to experts, 1000 militants are involved
in bandit formations in the North Caucasus Federal District. According
to Khloponin, half of them are “guys who are very lost."
Khloponin stressed the necessity to fight corruption at the federal level.
As VK reported earlier, Khloponin proposed restructuring the power
structures in the district with the reinforcement of
Kabardino-Balkaria.
