Six opposition members arrested in Iran

Ali Bagiri, member of the Islamic Revolution Organization of Patriots, has been arrested, the organization’s website Kaleme.com reports.

Bageri was the acting head of the opposition during the rule of ex-President Mohammad Khatami.
Iranian police surrounded the house of Hussein Musavi, leader of Iranian opposition, on Monday and blocked all telephone lines to prevent him from supporting Egyptian protesters.

Musavi’s wife, Zakhre Rakhnavard, was blocked from entering the house.

Mehdi Karrubi, an opposition leader, was put under home arrest last week. Everyone, except his wife, was forbidden to visit Karrubi until February 14.

Karrubi is supposedly arrested for sending a letter to the Interior Ministry with Hussein Musavi, requesting permission for protests to support the peoples of Egypt and Tunisia at the Square of Imam Hussein and Azadlyg. The protest is planned for Monday 15.00 (local time).
