Clashes between police and protesters in Iran

In the Iranian capital, and several other cities in the country
clashes took place between demonstrators and police, Trend reports,
referring to the official website of the Iranian opposition,
Kaleme.com. According to the information, clashes between police and
protesters took place in Tehran and in Esfahan. Police have arrested
dozens of demonstrators in the capital, the number of the detained is
increasing every hour. Earlier, the Iranian police used tear gas to
disperse the participants gathered in Tehran.

The riots in Iran have also spread to the cities of Kirmanshah, Reshd
and Homeynisheher.

Earlier on Monday, the Iranian police surrounded the house of the
leader of the Iranian opposition, Mir Hossein Mousavi, and blocked all
phone lines to prevent him from participating in the rally in support
of the Egyptian protesters, according to Kaleme.com.
