The head of Dagestan, Magomedsalam Magomedov, has held a coordination
council on terrorist attacks in the village of Gurben in the
Karabudakhkent District of the republic. Head of the People’s Assembly
of Dagestan Magomed-Sultan Magomedov, government chairman Magomed
Abdulayev and other officials took part in the meeting, RIA Dagestan
reports.
Two people were killed in Gurben and 27 were injured. A criminal case
was initiated according to article 205 (terrorist attack), 317
(infringement on the life of a police officer), and 223 (illegal arms
production) of the Russian Criminal Code.
President Magomedov said that the injured are undergoing treatment and
will receive material support. There are still die-hard militants. The
police will work on finding the organizers of the terrorist attacks,
he said.
One of the terrorists’ goals is to prevent the authorities from making
efforts in the economy and industry. On the contrary, the authorities
will work with even greater effort. Dagestan had new employment being
created, Magomedov said.
Kizlyar will have an extended meeting with directors of enterprises,
overseen by the president of Dagestan.
Muslims all over the world were celebrating the Prophet’s birthday
yesterday. The terrorist attack demonstrates the inhumanity of the
organizers. They have no right to be called “true Muslims”. A
terrorist attack on such a day shows a crisis in their ideology, he
said.
The Dagestani leader emphasized that it was a new battalion that was
attacked. The new battalion was formed by order of the Russian
president. Many grave terrorist actions had been prevented by the
battalion, he said.
Magomedov added that the police are the primary target of the
terrorists, which means that the work of the police structures needs
support.
