Combat readiness remains priority for South Ossetia

Combat readiness is still a priority goal for South Ossetia, despite
the lack of a military threat and the presence of Russian forces,
President of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity told a meeting at the
republic’s Defense Ministry, RIA Novosti reports.


The president noted that the authorities pay attention to social
protection for the military and veterans, the head of the
press-service of the president and government Vyacheslav Sedov said.


Kokoity discussed aspects of life of the ministry’s staff, including
pensions of servicemen transferred to the reserves.
