Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has given a hearing to a report
on the socio-economic development of Krasnodar Territory by Kuban
Governor Alexander Tkachyov at a meeting on Novo-Ogaryovo, ITAR-TASS
reports.
The governor noted that the gross regional product rate in Kuban
increased by 5.5%. Unemployment dropped by 0.8%, wages rose by 12% and
reached an average of 17,500 rubles.
The budget is 150 billion rubles. It is the fifth highest in Russia,
in terms of budget size and the socio-economic situation, Tkachyov
said.
The region is developing a resort complex and the small business
sector and is forming an industrial cluster.
The governor added that they had concluded the first stage of
constructing a metallurgical plant, where approximately 3 million tons
of metal-roll will be manufactured.
The wood-processing and glass industries are being actively developed.
Tkachyov described the housing situation. Housing with a floorspace of
3.5 million square meters has been built, coming in second place in
Russia, after the Moscow Region. The mortgage market is being actively
developed. Growth in housing construction surplus was 10% compared
with 2009.
