Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will visit the Krasnodar
Territory on February 17. He will view the clear-up of damage from
floods in October 2010, RIA Novosti reports.
Vestnik Kavkaza reported earlier that the water level in Rivers
Tuapse, Pshish and Makopse rose by 4-7 meters after heavy rains. 30
villages in Tuapse, Apsheron and Sochi Districts were submerged. Over
70,000 people were affected by the flood, 1,800 houses were submerged,
and 17 people died.
The flood caused damage worth 2.5 billion rubles. Krasnodar Territory
received 1.6 billion rubles as financial aid.
New housing was provided at Jubgin and Novomikhailovsky villages. 60
cottages and 4 multi-apartment building were constructed. Water
facilities, sewer pumping stations and pipelines, boiler houses,
transformation substations, power lines, gas and electricity networks
were restored.
