Karachay-Cherkessia reconstructs "Polyana-Uchkulan Substation"

The Inter-Regional High-Voltage Grid Company office in Karachay
Cherkessia will provide 16 million rubles on reconstruction of the 35
kW "Polyana-Uchkulan Substations" power line in 2011, within the
framework of an investment program, press-secretary of the energy
company Luisa Bayaliyeva told RIA Novosti on Thursday.


The line was built in early 70s. 70% of the line needs replacing. This
caused electricity crashes in bad weather.


Uchkulan, Khurzuk and Kart-Jurt auls had the biggest power problems in
June 2002 after floods.


Specialists started taking down the 11.5 km lines in January. All
elements will be replaced. There will be 83 new poles, 18 of them will
be made of steel, 65 - enforced concrete.


The Inter-Regional High-Voltage Grid Company of the North Caucasus is
an interregional power distribution company. It provides electricity
to Dagestan, Ingushetia, Ingushetia, North Ossetia-Alania, Stavropol
Territory, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia at a voltage from
110 to 0.4 kW.
