Ukraine plans to activate its membership in the Commonwealth of
Independent States, President Victor Yanukovych said at a meeting with
Sergey Lebedev, Executive Secretary of the CIS, UKRINFORM reports.
Ukraine has proposals for activating trade-economic cooperation in the
CIS. Yanukovych emphasized that coping with the repercussions of the
global recession is a topical goal. The states need to work on new
reforms and switch to innovative-investment model of development, he
said.
