Mehriban Aliyev, the first lady of Azerbaijan, president of the Heydar
Aliyev Fund, goodwill ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, parliamentary
deputy, has met the French Minister of Culture Frederic Mitterand at a
ceremony of the 20th anniversary of Azerbaijani Independence in Paris,
AzerTAG reports.
Mitterand noted in his speech that knowledge of Azerbaijan expands all
the time with documentaries and advertising giving good information on
tourism in Azerbaija.
The French minister said he was impressed with the well organized
event. He said that the France strives for development of culture
links between Azerbaijan and France.
France is working on exchanges in cultural heritage, archaeology,
organization of museum activities, musical sphere.
Mehriban Aliyeva thanked the minister for accepting the invitation.
She said that the two people know each other better through culture.
Aliyeva expressed hope for development of ties between the two
countries. Azerbaijan pays great attention to culture events in
France.
The first lady invited Frederic Mitterand to visit Azerbaijan and
expressed hope for a meeting in Azerbaijan.
