Parliamentary election on Iraq started with explosions

From 10 p.m. on Saturday till 5 a. m. on Monday in the Iraqui capital was imposed curfew. In a few hours till the beginning of the election the deserted city was plunged in tense silence. Though apprehension that in spite of all taken measures for security they won’t avoid explosions and victims on the day of election were confirmed: twelve people died in the result of the explosion of the domestic house on Sunday in the capital of Iraq – reports RIA Novosti on authority of the Reuters agency and on the source in the Department of the Interior. Four people more died and eight received injuries during the explosion of the other house in Bagdad.

In the Sunder morning volleys of mortal shells in several regions of Iraq marked the opening of polling stations in connection with the second after the overthrow of the Saddam Husein regime parliamentary election in the country.

According to the information of France Press the explosions of mortal shells were heard in the capital of Iraq including the “green zone” of Bagdad where government buildings and foreign embassies are placed and according to the Reuters agency on authority of representatives of police three people were injured during the mortal fire of the polling stations in Baigy-city in province Salah-Eddin 180 kilometres to the North from Bagdad.

Iraqui authorities and American administration hope that general parliamentary election will become an illustration of the further consolidation of democracy in the country. Though preceding to the election progress of events illustrates presence of deep interconfessional split in it, which put in jeopardy the future of Iraq.
