EU South Caucasus special representative urges Moscow-Tbilisi talks

Peter Semneby, EU Special Representative to the South Caucasus, says
at a news briefing in Tbilisi today that only dialogue will help iron
out Russian-Georgian relations, Trend reports.


His term of office expires on February 28.


Semneby emphasized that EU is ready to provide any necessary support
to Tbilisi. He also underlined that the conflict is within the talks
on Sukhumi and Tskhinvali.


The EU official believes that the sides need to come to a compromise
to achieve peace and stability in the region.
