Azerbaijan appoints new CEC staff

The Azerbaijani parliament has approved the new staff of the Central
Electoral Commission (CEC) on Tuesday.


18 members were appointed: Mazahir Panakhov, Shaitdin Aliyev, Fuad
Javadov, Ramiz Ibragimov, Valida Kyazimova and Gabil Orudzhev
(candidates from Yeni Azerbaijan), Mikail Ragimli (Azerbaijani Popular
Front Party), Almas Gakhramanly (Democratic Reforms Party), Bakhsheish
Askerov (Great Order Party), Etibar Guliyev (Ana Veten Party), Natig
Mamedov, Azer Tagiyev, Arifa Mukhtarova, Ilham Mamedov, Nizami Nadirov
and Tofig Gasanov (independent). Natig Mamedov's candidature was
agreed on with the Yeni Azerbaijan Party, Arifa Mukhtarova - approved
by the parliament minority.


Aydyn Mirzazade noted that the current formation of the CEC is
reasonable. Fazil Mustafa said that it would be better to take into
account interests of the parties that are not represented in the
parliament.
