Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates have signed a deal on defense cooperation, APA cites Azerbaijani Defense Minister Yaver Jamalov.
The minister said that the issue was discussed with the head of the UAE Command Staff. They also discussed mutual visits.
Jamalov said that UAE experts will visit Azerbaijan and an Azerbaijani delegation will visit the UAE. He mentioned the IDEX-2011 international defense exhibition, in which Azerbaijan made successful demonstrations of its products.
The defense minister said that they had bilateral meetings with officials from foreign countries and defense specialists. He said that foreign countries are expressing interest in Azerbaijani defense products.
A set of companies signed contracts on purchasing ammunition.
Azerbaijan demonstrated 71 products at the IDEX-2011 exhibition.
