The Russian Defense Export Company has offered Azerbaijan to organize the licensed production of Tiger armoured vehicles in the republic, Azerbaijani Assistant Defense Minister Azad Mamedov told ARMS-TASS at the 10th international exhibition on military equipment IDEX-2011 in Abu Dhabi.
He said that Russian officials had visited Azerbaijan with presentations numerous times. Azerbaijan has the necessary industry to produce Tiger vehicles. It has experience in producing the Marauder anti-mine system together with the South African company Paramount.
Azerbaijan and Russia concluded a contract on organizing the licensed production of modernized AK-74M automatic weapons. The first batches of the weapons will be seen this year.
