Putin compares situation in North Africa and North Caucasus

Russia worries about the growing influence of Islamic radicals in North Africa that may have a negative impact on the situation in the North Caucasus, said Prime Minister Vladimir Putin at a press-conference after the meeting with European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, RIA Novosti reports.

Putin expressed his concerns about the number of victims and the possibility that the radical islamist groups might come to power as a result of the upheavals and this would  affect the other parts of the world, including the North Caucasus.
