Radiation greatly exceeding established norms was detected on Thursday
in the center of Vladikavkaz in a shed in a private courtyard with
public access, RIA Novosti reports, citing a source in the North
Ossetia police.
Residents from nearby apartments have been evacuated.
The radiation is believed to be coming from fuel rods.
Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights)
Interior Ministry and Emergencies Ministry staff are working in the
area.
