Azerbaijani Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova has presented the annual report to President Ilham Aliyev, 1news.az reports.
According to the law, the ombudsman is to present the annual report on the work done within the first two months of each year. The report is presented to the president, parliament, the Cabinet, the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court and the General Prosecutor’s Office.
Suleymanov sent the report to Aliyev and the necessary structures on February 28.
The report contains information on the human rights protection, their violation and prevention of violations. The document includes information on human rights education, scientific and analytical work, cooperation of the ombudsman with state structures, international organizations, non-government organizations and media.
The report also contains recommendations and proposals on improvement of the human rights protection. The document will be presented to the public after being viewed at the parliament.
