A delegation from the European Union in Azerbaijan, ambassadors and officials from 10 EU members visited the Nakhchivan Autonomy of Azerbaijan in late February this year, the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) says, Trend reports.
The sides talked on further cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU within the Eastern Partnership program and the EU contribution to improving mutual understanding and sustainable development of the region.
The visit demonstrates the readiness of the EU to cooperate with all regions of Azerbaijan, Ambassador Roland Kobia said.
The sides talked on the negative aspects of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. Ambassadors praised the OSCE projects in Nakhchivan, defining economic development, education and science as possible trends for future cooperation.
EU officials met the spokesman of Nakhchivan parliament, ministers of interior affairs, economic development, officials from the Foreign Ministry, the ombudsman, representatives of non-government organizations and political parties.
