Makhachkala will start the realization of the Lazurny Bereg project, a satellite city of the republic’s capital. The project needs territory for the further development of infrastructure, RIA Novosti cites a spokesman of the city administration as saying.
The satellite city is planned for 75,000-80,000 people. It will cover 300 hectares in the south-east district of Makhachkala. 150 billion rubles have been invested. The city will have 2 million square meters of housing with all the necessary infrastructure. There will be a children’s recreation complex for 1080 spots covering 26,000 square meters, a sports center for 2500 spectators, a health-improvement complex covering over 40,000 square meters, a clinic with 700 spots, a children’s theater, a wedding office, skating arena, a circus and a yacht club.
Lazurny Bereg will have 15 modern hotels for over 17,000 visitors, a cultural-ethnography complex covering some 7,000 square meters. The project will be realized in 2017 and will pay off within 8 years. It is realized by private investments.
