The government of Abkhazia decided to provide 20 million rubles for the World Domino Championship in Sukhumi. The competition will be held in October 2011. The decision to hold the championship was made in Las Vegas where the previous one was held.

A military town was launched for Russian border guards in the New Athos. It is the third such town constructed after signing the Russian-Abkhaz agreement on joint efforts in protecting the Abkhaz border in April 2009.

A photo exhibition opened at Sukhumi’s Agava gallery. The exhibition is commemorating the memory of the first Abkhaz President Vladislav Ardzinba on March 4 at 14.30. The republic will have a minute of silence. There will be 10 artillery shots made.
The Abkhaz University of Humanitarian Studies named after Gulia had a conference on Ardzinba.

The National Library of Papaskir held a presentation of the book entitled “The road to disgrace”. It is the diary of Amiran Kubrav, who gave detailed descriptions of the events at Abkhazia’s Ochamchira District in 1992-1993.
