Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin confirmed further a strengthening of ties with CIS states as a priority for Russia at a meeting with the Executive Secretary of the CIS Sergey Lebedev on Thursday, RIA Novosti cites the government website as saying.
Lebedev said that Russia continues to play the key role in integration cooperation and is a respectable platform for various economic and business forums.
Putin said that Russia will keep improving relations with the EurAsEC. He also asked about the preparations for the CIS economic council and the Council of State Leaders, preliminary project of the interstate innovative cooperation program and cooperation in using peaceful nuclear energy until 2020.
