The authorities of Stavropol Territory will award approximately a hundred “Mother’s Glory” medals to mothers with over 5 children, RIA Novosti cites a member of the regional government’s section for information policy as saying.
The ceremony will start in cities and districts of the region on Friday. Stavropol will start awarding the mothers at the Stavropol State Agrarian University at 12.00 (Moscow time).
Lyubov Merkulova from Kievka village of Apanasenkosky District is the only owner of the Mother’s Glory medal of first degree. She has 10 children.
13 mothers will receive second degree medals for raising seven, eight or nine children, 75 mothers will receive the third degree medals for raising five or six children.
Owners of the first degree medals will receive 70,000 rubles, second degree – 50,000 rubles, third degree – 30,000 rubles. They will all receive a certificate with the governor’s signature.
Stavropol Territory has been awarding such medals since 2008. The ceremony is held twice a year: on the International Women’s Day in March and the Mother’s Day in November. A total of 336 medals have been awarded.
