The minister for foreign affairs of Georgia, Grigol Vashadze, said that it is sad the circumstances didn’t let him maintain his Russian citizenship, News Georgia reports.
“Russian citizenship and Russia in general are part of my life. It doesn’t matter whether I have a Russian passport or not,” Vashadze stated.
However, Vashadze refused to comment on the political situation in Russia.
The Russian authorities approved Vashadze’s relinquishment of citizenship in June 2010.
