Iraq, Turkey, Syria and Iran sign Shamgen deal

Iran, Turkey, Syria and Iraq have signed a deal introducing a new visa regime, Shamgen, Iranian Deputy Vice-President for economic issues Ali Agamohammadi said, Panorama reports.


The source says that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan initiated signing of the agreement. It is aimed at reducing expenses in tourism.


The word “Shamgen” derives from the word “Sham”, an Arab and Persian word referring to the Syrian capital Damascus.
