Dmitry Medvedev meets US vice-president

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has met with US Vice-President Joseph Biden. They talked about Russian membership in the World Trade Organisation, anti-missile defenses in Europe, the situation in Libya and the coming visit of US President Barack Obama to Moscow, ITAR-TASS reports.

It is the first bilateral meeting of Medvedev and Biden. The meeting was held at Medvedev’s Gorki residence at Holland Hall.

Medvedev said that economic ties between the two countries are falling behind the political ones. One of the reasons is Russian absence from the WTO. He expressed hope that the USA will support the process this year.
