Azerbaijan is going to contribute to funding the project of sheltering the sarcophagus, which was built at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in order to isolate the unit, exploded on April 26, 1986.
This was stated by Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine in Azerbaijan Miroslav Blaschuk. 1news.az reports. According to him, in April this year Ukraine at the state level will commemorate the 25 anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster.
“We are pleased to note that we have obtained the consent of the Azerbaijani side to take part in the commemoration days of the Chernobyl disaster. The event will be held under the patronage of President of Ukraine, but also under the auspices of several European institutions, the EU and USA ", he stressed.
